Q: 13 Week ultrasound will the doctors be able to determine the gender?

I am having a NT Scan and I will be 13 weeks, the NP at my practice said the doctor at the fetal diagnosis center will be able to tell me the sex. How accurate will this be?

My 13wk ultrasound guessed girl and was right this time. My 15wk ultrasound I had a guess if girl and he was CLEARLY a boy at my 20wk. With my other two the tech said it was too early and wouldn't even look. I say you can ask but don't do a reveal or anything until your anatomy scan just in case. Boys and girls are just starting to look different at 13wks and if you don't get a really good picture, it could be wrong.

13 weeks is too early... 18-20 weeks is usually the best time to see gender as long as the baby cooperates! If you do genetic testing, that's more accurate and you don't have to wait but it's usually way more expensive and not typically recommended unless you're at higher risk of genetic abnormalities.

hi, hope so you are doing great. I am really happy for you. Don't take the stress. All will be fine. I think so it is too early. The result would not be accurate. Just wait for the perfect moment. Just handle the situation calmly. Take care. Surround yourself with those who give you happiness and stay away from negative vibes. My best wishes are with you.

Is it a boy or a girl? As the secret blessing moves into the womb the parents try to reveal the secret of this unseen being. There were times when parents had to wait for the baby to come into the world. Since the invention of the ultrasound the task has become easier. The ultrasounds are used to find the status of the child. It gives the right picture of how well the baby is doing. It also predicts the right gestational age. Above all it is used to predict the gender of the baby too. The moms going for ultrasound have to wait for some weeks before things get clear. Anyone thinking to get the blues or pinks has to wait for atleast 18 weeks. In some cases the time can be 19 or 20 weeks. Sometimes the baby is positioned in such a way that the gender is not clear. In your cae 13 weeks is too early. You need to have patience. After sometime the things will get even clearer. Hope you will share the surprise soon.
