Q: Headaches, what gives?

I don't remember having headaches with my last pregnancy but my husband seems to think I did. I'm sick of having them. I just had my blood pressure checked Friday and it was 120/78 so I don't think it is due to that. I'm trying hard to drink more water and while I'm sure it is not enough I'm still drinking more than I ever have before.

Any thoughts?

Thanks ladies. I am currently headache free as I type this and it feels fantastic. Hoping it will last. I will continue to keep drinking as much water as possible without living in the bathroom!
Sandy, I do sit at a desk all day so that could be a contributing factor as well!

Tight traps will cause headaches. They run from the base of ur skull down to about mid-back. Ur upper traps tend to get tight due to poor posture/sitting at a desk all day etc. Stretch them frequently and stretch them well! (chin to chest, arms extended w/ hands clasped behind ur back or in front (whichever is comfortable for u), reach for the ground), slow neck rolls will also help (IF it's tension related). Other than that, hydration, food intake, hormones and lack of sleep are ur other culprits. Do the best u can, it'll pass.
Feel better soon! =))

I hate this answer, but it was right for me when I was around your gestation: hormones. I had headaches from when I woke up to when I went to bed from around 10 weeks through 14 weeks or so. Sometimes water or Tylenol would help, or eating, or caffeine, other times it wouldn't... but in the end it was really a waiting game. I hope you find relief soon!

Fluctuations in hormones can cause headaches. I get a headache every month (when I am not pregnant) for a day or two around the same time in my cycle. My Aunt gets migraines that are hormone related. Also, my mother is going through menopause and she has migraines associated with the hormone fluctuations per her doctor.

I am not 100% sure that is what is causing your headaches but it is a thought. I am pretty sure that headaches are one of the more common symptoms of early pregnancy. I am sure you have heard it already but each pregnancy can be completely different. I am pregnant with my 3rd and this pregnancy has been nothing at all like my first two. My symptoms have been so different that I can't really even compare it to my first two.

I also just had my blood sugar tested with my recent physical a couple of weeks ago and that came back normal as well so I don't believe it is that either.
