I was 1 cm and 80% effaced at 28 weeks. The sent me to the hospital where I received the steroid shots for my baby's lungs. They also found that I was contracting, but I did not feel the contractions. I was put on bed rest for the remainder of my pregnancy and had my dd at 36 weeks. Has your doc. given you any restrictions?

If your doctor isn't concerned then I wouldn't worry about it. I was 1 cm at 30 weeks, 2cm at 36 weeks and still delivered 9 days days late.

I was dilated 2cm at 30 wks I had to stay in the hospital 2 days and they gave steriod shots in my legs to help the baby lungs mature just in case I did deliver but thank god they stopped my contractions and then around 37 wks I was 4cm didnt even know.

Not unless your doctor seems worried. You could stay at 1cm until labour it just depends on your body. If your already effacing then I might be a little worried since effacing is a better indication of labour then dialation.. but your doctor should have let you known if they have any concern because I'm guessing thats how u found out you were 1cm, if not then I would just phone and ask to put your mind at ease. But honestly you could sit at 1cm for many more weeks to come. Good luck!

go to the hospital... you should not be dilating at 28 weeks! your cervix should be closed.
