We are having to make a move we weren't planning on making while I am pregnant. I need some advice for moving while pregnant? Any tips to make it easier?

We moved into a new house 2.5 months before my daughter was born. I was not allowed (by everyone) to move boxes or bring things up and down stairs. Mainly I was set to putting clothes away and unpacking small things. Not something I would ever wish on another woman. Good luck!

Thanks, I am defiantly not gonna over exert myself. Decided to start packing a little bit at a time..instead of waiting until the day before we move and packing everything in a hurry and all at once

I moved just 3 weeks ago (at 24 weeks).... I'm now on bed rest so be careful. I didn't do any lifting, but i think the stress and the 3 days it took me to clean the rental house we were leaving was too much. I pulled my back and combined with braxton hicks i have been in major pain, so midwife has put me on bed rest.
It also took longer than i thought to pack as well as i would get out of breath easy.

As long as you take it easy and get a lot of people to help you will be fine. Good Luck!

Thanks :) we aren't moving far its a different city but its only 8 or so miles outside of the city we live in now...not looking forward to all the moving though. Super hard not to stress..We moved once right after I found out I was pregnant and wasn't planning on doing it again for awhile! It wore me out then so I don't know I am going to do it now... what make it worse is we are moving in with my parents until the baby is a couple months old so we aren't going to have really any space that is our own except 1 room...blah

well being that I just moved from WA to CO I can contribute to advice! :D and.. my first advice would be.. TRY not to stress however its easier said than done. I had a few emotional breakdowns during the process. Also.. NO lifting or pulling of anything heavy, anything more than 25 lbs. I believe is the rule of thumb but you can ask your doctor. Also what I did is i would pack the items in the boxes and hubby would move and lift them. Also.. when cleaning if your going to use any cleaners like windex or something open lots of windows to get lots of air. Or if you can use water and vinegar to clean something more natural that would be best. I made the mistake of cleaning the bathroom without proper ventilation for the first hour and I got the WORST headache from it. Also take lots of breaks and don't forget to eat and drink. I got so involved that I did a few times. ;) Good luck with your move! i hate moving! lol.
