Q: Flying and anxiety while pregnant.

I have ALWAYS hated flying. Hated it! I have panic attacks on planes. The only way I have been able to get through the flights I have been on is either by having a drink or two or.. taking pills for anxiety.. and no benadryl will NOT work for the type and level of anxiety I have for flying.

So I am flying back home on friday afternoon and I am excited to go home but I don't even wanna get on that plane! :/ and to make matters worse they put me in the VERY last row of the plane. I called to ask to see if i could be moved but they said the flight is full. :( I HOPE that when I get there I will explain my anxieties and my pregnancy and that they can move me either in the middle or more up front.

Anyways.. Any suggestions here at all ladies!? I am terrified and I am dreading it. I so rather drive lol but a two day drive is not an option again but I am so anxious about it I would in a way rather not go back home. I hate it. :/

Hi dear,
I wouldn't recommend you to be on a plane, either. Especially during your pregnancy. But as it is important for you to travel, i will suggest you consult your doctor as you have chronic panic and anxiety disorder. Ofcourse drinking or taking an anxiety pill is not at all advisable. This can harm your babt, big time! However, listening to meditative music while on your ride can help you with your anxiety a lot. Also, try wearing accupressure sicks to maintain a balanced blood circulation throughout your body for the entire journey, this can help with your anxiety, too!

Extra benadryle. And try some relaxing meditation music to listen too, and really try to convince yourself its going to be fine and try not to focus on your fear, its just going to make it worse. Deap breaths. And concentration. You might ask your doc for a mild sedative but idk if that's what you want your baby to have, but if its going to stress you out that bad, you could put yourself in labor too. I hope you can get threw it !! And I hope there's something out there that helps you!!!
