Q: contractions when scheduled for C section?

I had contractions between 15 and 10 inutes apart for about 5 or 6 hours last night.. (didn't get any sleep!)
My C section is scheduled in 2 days..

My question is.. Keeping in mind that the C section is scheduled.. how far apart should the contractions be before I go to the hospital?
I know these were real contractions: they started as a dull backache, then moved to the front where my whole tummy got hard..
Sooo tired today.. not sure what I should do.
I think they've stopped though so probably just wait..

hmmmm see I was wondering the other day if that had to happen to me what the protocal would be.... I think def give your doc a call and see what they advice... Good luck hunny :) Happy and Healthy delivery :) SOOOO exciting :) xxx

I was scheduled for a c-section with my son and the week before my c-section my water broke. Since I had eaten lunch I was told I had to wait at least 8 hrs before they could do the c-section, I was in labor for almost 12 hrs and dilated at around 2-3 before they finally did the c-section.
*I'd say if they start up again defiantly give your doctor a call. You may even want to give them a call before then and see a head of time what they want you to do if contractions start again.

I'd say that if you start having them again, you might want to at least call your doctor, because if you are dialating with these contractions, if you dialate too far it may be an issue. A friend of mine is scheduled for a c-section in AUgust and they told her if she starts dialating, then they will need to move her c-sec date up. Congrats!!

Your best bet would be to call the hospital OB and ask them. I only say this because time varies with living distance. With my first I lived 15 minutes from the hospital, they told me to come in if my contractions hit every 5-8 minutes. I live in town now so it'll be 3-5 minutes. Just let them know where you live and let them know you've started having them and are just wondering when you need to go in.
