Q: 6 Weeks and my clothes dont fit....

Ok, so I am nearly 6 weeks along. I have not gained any weight, but my clothes just dont seem to fit right. Things are getting tight around my lower abdomen and hips. Does this seem realistic? I mean, I am definately expecting clothes not to fit at some point, but at 6 weeks? Already? Need some advice from some other moms out there. Thanks so much!

I'm 6 weeks and ,y clothes have been tight for a couple of weeks. I bought a button extender. worked ok during week 4 & 5 but not really with week 6. I am resoted to wearing lose fitting dresses so i belly can just hang loose :)

I'm 10 weeks and have not fit in my clothes since I was 5 weeks! I bought the belly bands, those are good and I went ahead and got maternity clothes.. and dresses :)

I am 6 weeks and 3 days. I also am experiencing difficulty putting on pants that used to fit. I am resorting to wearing lots of dresses and loose fitting stretchy pants. I have lost weight due to nausea. I am really considering buying a belly band in order to be able to continue wearing my pants!

This is very common - bloating early in pregnancy. I had the same issue even though I haven't gained any weight yet and I'm now almost 16 weeks! I bought myself a 'bella band' to help hold up my regular pants which I find really helps - I still feel it is too early to buy maternity stuff, but that's just me :)

I had the same even though I wasn't gaining weight - Also when I used to have a period one of the reasons I knew I was due on was because my clothes would feel tight, uncomfortable and awkward, so I always assumed it was the hormones and part of pms. Anyway this is also how I felt from early on, so maybe it's the same? Also I retained water causing a bit of bloat. I can't wear my jeans anymore because they feel awful, elasticated waist bottoms are all I wear now!

Thanks so much Starla... So, when you went shopping, did you buy regular clothes in bigger sizes or did you buy maternity clothes? Thanks for the advice!

I was like you...my waist line and hips started to thicken right away and I was in fact loosing weight due to nausea. I was on holiday between 6 and 9 weeks and nearly half of my clothes that I'd taken away with me were way too tight to be comfortable and I ended up going on a shopping spree. People with me thought I was just be a drama queen and over reacting I'm sure but apparently you are supposed to start widening around the middle fairly early on :)
