Q: Miscarried last July 22, when can we TTC again?

Hello ladies, well, sad news, I got a D&C last week, July 22. I was supposedly 9w1d if I ovulated late, or 10w1d according to my calculation. But last Saturday, the day that I supposedly hear my baby's heartbeat, we found out that he didn't grow from 8w2d. We were so devastated. Specially me, because I know I did try my best to keep it safe. :( Well, my question is, how long should we wait till we can try again? Anyone there who can help me? your thoughts and comments or suggestions are very much appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you for all your comments ladies! I'm beginning to think, that maybe TTC depends , how far your pregnancy is when we got the D&C. If it is too an early m/c we can try to TTC as soon as were ready, but maybe if its a little bit late, like 8ws up, we have to wait for 2-3 cycles. Well, I think I just need to wait till we get back to TTC again. Though its the hardest waiting ever. Good luck to everyone, specially to those who are now very far w/ their pregnancy. TC and God bless!

So sorry for your loss =( I misscarried in febuary 2012, baby stopped growing at 7 weeks but I thought I was 11 weeks. I had to have 2 DNCs as the first they did not get everything. I was so upset and bound determine to conceive again right away. I got my period exactly one month later from the DNC and we found out we were pregnant in april =) This pregnancy is going great and im 17 weeks. My doctor wanted me to wait one cycle to let me uterus thicken up a bit, and im glad I did.

So sorry for your loss! When I miscarried last October I had a d&c and my dr told me to wait one cycle. I finished bleeding from the d&c in the beginning of November and then didn't get another period til December 17th, and when I ovulated after that cycle, I got pregnant. Now 32 weeks, and everything is fine. But make sure you are ready. Good luck sweetie!

I am so sorry for your loss.
I miscarried at 6w 4d in December, and my dr told me that I could start trying again as soon as I felt emotionally ready. They recommended that I wait until I experienced another menstrual period, but said that since the miscarriage happened so early on, that it would be ok if I got pregnant sooner. I tracked my temperature, and found that I ovulated 4 weeks after my miscarriage, and got pregnant before I had another period. I am now 28w6d pregnant, and baby & I are doing well.
I wish you the best! <3

just to answer about the cycles, everyone is different there too, some woman get there cycle exactly 4 weeks after mc, some dont get it for months.
but my dr said there must be at least a 2 week break of no bleeding for further bleeding to count as a period ( if that makes sense)

all drs seem to have different opinions, I was told its best to wait at least 3 cycles so everything is built up properly and strong inside ( these where her words :/) she did also say theres nothing stopping you from trying as soon as you have had 1 normal period, ( this is what most websites say) If a woman's body isn't ready to support a pregnancy by the time that she conceives again, she faces an increased risk of experiencing a repeat miscarriage. It takes time for the uterus to recover and for the endometrial lining to become strong and healthy again.
Medically, it is safe to conceive after two or three normal menstrual periods.
and on a personal note I had a mc November 2011 I was 11 weeks the baby was between 7 - 9 I had d&c early December and was told I would bleed for 2 weeks, I bled for 2 months heavily, had to go back to ER in february cos I was losing big clots my periods where messed up , they went back to normal in April, Im now 11 weeks 4 days pregnant.
