Q: travelling by car a week before my due date, cutting it too close?

I'm due November 30th according to lmp, but according to ultrasounds I'm a week and 2 days father, which means I'd be due right around Thanksgiving.

I don't get to see my family much, and everyone gets together at my grandparents house. I really want to go, but am worried I wont make it through the 2 hour 100 mile ride it takes to get there, and especially so closes to my due date {and even closer to what my ultrasounds are saying)

Has anyone travelled that far into their pregnancies? Do you think I could make it well enough? this is my first pregnancy and don't know what to expect.

Welcome here everyone,
I will never recommend you or anyone to fly during their entire pregnancy duration. The risk is too much to handle that too just a week prior to your due date! The fetus is fully grown by this time, and can be ready to see the world any time! But seeing your situation, if you should fly away, make sure you have consulted your doctor prior to choosing flying away a week ago. Although, i would suggest you to take every precaution and fly a couple weeks before instead of a week ago. Also, take a pair of accupressure socks with you to keep a balance in your blood circulation. Travel safe.

yea dont plan ahead you take it day by day on how your feeling and if you have a dr appt right before see how it goes id say if more than 2cm dialted then i would have to pass. your family will understand. 2 hours isnt that far so as long as your careful you shouldbe just fine!

I think it's going to depend on how you are feeling at the time. Just play it by ear. I made a 100 mile-car trip recently and I actually drove and was fine (although my DH was willing to drive if I needed him to...I just like to drive). For the past few weeks, I've just based things on how I'm feeling. This is my first too and I didn't know what to expect. You can "plan" to go, but let your family know that it's possible you won't be able to make it. Everyone seems to be more understanding when you are pregnant:-)
