Q: Heart rate at 8 weeks...what gender did your baby end up being?

I am due 3/19/2013 with #3. I had my 8 week ultrasound this morning. My first child is 2 1/2, a boy, and my second just turned 1 on Saturday, also a boy. At their 8 week appointments their heart rates were163/161, respectively. This baby's heart rate today was 179. The old wives take says above 140=girl, but it was wrong for me with both boys! What gender did your baby end up being and what was their 8 week heart rate? We are praying for a healthy LO, but hoping for a girl because we don't plan on having another (although I'll surely try to talk hubby into it if this is boy #3! Lol!) Chinese calendar said my boys would be boys, and says this one should be a girl, so I guess we'll see! Thanks ladies!

The heart rate changes day to day, it starts out higher early on and then slows down the closer you get to delivery. Old wives tale...our LO's HR was in the 160-170s until week 12 and then it went down into the 150s for most of the pregnancy (I'm 31 weeks). It was in the 130s this week. I'm having a boy.

You never want to go off the heartrate. Our baby's heart rate at 8 weeks was 138 and everyone kept telling me it was a boy.. I'm now 33 weeks and the heartrate has been between 130 and 175 the whole time, and I'm having a girl. Gender predictor was wrong for me as well.
