Q: Swollen vulva / varicose veins?

Just wondering has anyone else experienced this...I'm 25 weeks pregnant with my second baby and when I go to the toilet I feel like very heavy down there. The only way I can describe the feeling is like I thought I was having a prolapsed womb(if thats even possible when pregnant)
Anyways got the mirror and had a look and it's on the left side and what looks like a swollen vulva or a very large varicose vein. Do I need to go to the doctor

there is such a thing as Vulva Varicose and its not hemmroids that spread. i have never had hemeroids while pergnant but sadly get the vulva varicose every time (4th pregnancy now) im only 20 weeks and already feeling the discomfort. i feel terrible for you!! towards the end of the pregnancy this will get quite painful if standing for long periods of time. i used cool cloths to help soothe the ache. i dont think the dr will do much, and this is not unusual. hemmeroid cream may help shrink the veins but i have never tried it myself. best of luck to you!!

it sounds like you could have the horrible H word, Hemmeroids(soz about the spelling)
which is basically varicos veis around your bottom. but if big and nasty enough they can move into your front section also, if you can try drinking plenty of water, and see your doctor or midwife when you can. im not saying its an emergency, but the sooner the better.you may find that the doctor will perscribe a h cream.
