Q: HCG not doubling fast enough...

I had my second u/s today and a hcg blood test. The u/s showed progress since the last u/s 9 days ago, and even tho I'm 7wks 2days, I measured about 4 or 5 days behind. Doc said it looked good other than that. Then she called me about my blood work. 9 days ago it was 8804, today it was about 15,000, which according to the beta calculator here is a doubling time of 240 somethin hours... Doctor said it doesn't look good, but nothing is for sure. has anyone else had bad news like this and had a happy ending? I'm getting super depressed about this. Thanks.

From what I understand once you hear the heartbeat hcg is moot and that once your hcg level goes past 10,000 it's going to slow down. I would focus more on the u/s and a healthy baby and less on a number. Remember too that the nurse and docs have to tell you both sides and from my experience they tend to lean towards the negative. It will be okay just try to relax and not put too much stress on your little one!
