Q: What does Braxton Hicks Feel like???

Okay so I've been having this snot-like gooey discharge that looks like my mucus plug bt is clear(TMI sorry) and this feeling in my tummy which I first thought was baby moving till I googled and it sounds like braxton hicks, I'm only 20w4d wanted to know from experienced moms whether this was indeed braxton hicks and also what they felt like? And will labour follow there after? I'm really freaking out here, I'm scheduled to see my Doc Wednesday only. Anyone have answers its really appreciated. Thanks

I got braxton hicks with my first at around 20 weeks and it stopped me in my tracks because it hurt so much, it was a sharp pain followed by tightness going right across by belly button, cnt remember having them at all with 2 and 3, with this one I started getting them at 16 weeks, they are not painfull just uncomfortable, I didn't lose any discharge with any of them though.

I started getting braxton hicks around 20 weeks as well. It made me nervous, but my Ob assured me that it's natural and some woman just get them through their entire pregnancy. When I noticed them for the first time it was so bizzare. My stomach felt like it was tightening, and then it got really hard, and subsided thirty to sixty seconds later. Sometimes they can hurt, but usually they are just annoying and uncomfortable. There is nothing wrong with them, as long as you make sure they aren't increasingly painful and regular! Usually drinking water or changing position helps to ease them. Good luck! You're over halfway there!

Braxton hicks are contractions that happen throughout pregnancy. They're normally not regularly timed and will generally subside if you change position. Just think of it as your body's way of preparing itself for labor!
