Q: High Blood Pressure and Migraine at 17 weeks/Pre-Eclampsia?

I went to my OB yesterday for a regular checkup. My doctor came in and told me my blood pressure is a little high for me, at 140/80. As she's explaining it all to me, I start getting the "auras" in my vision that signal a migraine coming on. I told her I was getting one and she said the two are probably related. Anyway, now I have to do a 24 hour urine test to measure the protein in my urine. I go back next week to review my results and to get my blood pressure taken again. Has anyone had mildly high blood pressure so early and things turn out okay?

I'm hoping my BP was only high because of the oncoming migraine. I really, REALLY do not want pre-eclampsia, especially so early.

I'm having the same problem i'm also 17 weeks. Today at my WIC appt she had said i have signs of hypertension too which can lead to preclampsia. . I also get bad headaches i thought it was normal preggo stuff as i never had real symptoms before and i googlede and most of it is normal. My bp was 140/90. . . The lady suggested drinkin lots water. Limiting salty foods, not stress (like thats easy while prego lol) and relaxing. Tomorrow i have doc appt so am eager as to what he says. Good luck girl. I hope it works out for you
