Highlights barely even touch the scalp. The chemicals aren't going to go through your skin in such a small amount.

MY doctor looked at me like I was crazy when I asked if I could color my hair, she said of course.
Go for it, just don't go too extreme, you DO have a lot of hormones racing around playing havoc on your emotions.
drastic color definitely better than a drastic cut at this point!

I think there are some products that are safer than others. I know my friend who is a hairdresser was able to work with color chemicals throughout her pregnancy without an issue. Your stylist should be aware of any products that would be unsafe. Just let him/her know in advance and I would say that as long as they are knowledgeable and choose the safest products it's okay.

it is recommended to wait until after your first trimester. week 13 -week 28... I would hold off till then!
