Q: SO frustrated!!!

Im just so fed up right now!!!! i literally have NO clothes. there are no maturnity stores where i live..the closest is 4 hours away..and im having such a hard time finding pants to wear! im 30 weeks an i just want to cry. i just bought a new pair of pants, hopeful that they would be at least wear-able.. well apparently a size large means they are like parachutes below the knee.. cant wear these outside... seriously... every other pair i bought stretched out and fall right off me while im walking. anyone else having luck like me ??

I'm in the same boat. The only second hand store here that sells maternity clothes they're all in huge sizes and I'm tiny. The last time I went out of town, I hit a consignment shop that is just for mothers and children and got two pairs for $12 total. And my sister-in-law just took a big rubber band during her last pregnancy and made a slip not around the button hole in the pants and then wrapped the rubber band around the button to keep her pants shut. I've also been looking on ebay and other places and buying shirts that are cheap and cover my belly, but don't look frumpy. So much cheaper. I've literally only spent $25 total and I have four pair of maternity pants and I'm still wearing my pre-pregnancy shirt.

I have never bought maternity clothes . There way expensive and don't fit right. what I have done in my last three pregnancies and what I plan on doing for this pregnancy is use what are called Tummy sleeves. You can get them online at motherhood maternity. There like tube tops for your belly. They cover your zipper area so you can leave it open and no one is the wiser it just looks like an under shirt. I then buy shirts made from stretchy material . I get so many people asking me where i buy my maternity clothes and there shocked when they find out it just a tube top and all my regular clothes.

I don't buy maternity wear its too expensive, I have been wearing pants with elasticated waists or leggins, with tops I just get a size larger - works for me an less then half the price.

My solution is simply to buy a size larger than I'd normally wear *chuckle*. It doesn't work so well with tops (you just end up looking like you're wearing a tent rather than a top) but I haven't found ANY maternity clothes that I like the look of so that's been my solution so far.

I am not sure how you are about used clothes... but I just bought some maternity pants at a second hand baby store. I got two pairs for 13 bucks and one was bran new! Still had tages on. and the other pair was just slightly warn.... you can even check out the good will, DI, waterfront... and if you look really hard you can find some nice maternity clothes there too. :) No need to spend 20 or more bucks on a pair of jeans you wear for a few months! I hope this helps.

Most maternity stuff can be bought online and returned if it doesn't fit etc. Old Navy, Gap, Ann Taylor Loft, Kohls, Target, Destination Maternity and Motherhood ALL have PLENTY PLENTY of maternity clothes that are available. I rarely shop at the stores as most stores don't carry their maternity clothes in stock. If you google, you can find coupons for the clothes or even for free shipping. There is no need to be frustrated, it can all be done online. Good luck.

I've bought tons of stuff from Old Navy online. I haven't even been in an actual storefront to buy any maternity stuff until this past Monday when I got a coat from Target. Old Navy runs stuff on sale a lot.

Can you order something online? I would think it'll be hard to make non-maternity pants fit decently since a pregnant body has a very different shape to it than a larger non-pregnant body.

Here in Canada we can order online from the maternity shops and they ship. I'm not sure what your options are. I was surprised at the price of maternity pants...I expected to pay a fortune but a pair of very comfy jeans to last months 3-9 were only $70bucks and dress pants only $60. Which compared to regular jeans/pants is quite reasonable. PLus I expect to wear them for some time after baby comes.

That said I've only bought 2 pairs of pants since I am not working full-time I can wash and rewear without people noticing too much!

Good luck!
