Q: everyone saying i wont make it to due date

ok im 35 weeks and found out yesterday that im 1 cm dilated and baby is pretty low. Now that everyone has found out that im dialated that im not gonna make it 3 to 4 more weeks. Do any of you believe i wont make or had this experiance and made it to their due dates or no?

Hello!
i am 38 weeks and 3 days (but whos counting LOL) i have been dilated since 36 weeks so 2 weeks... i am 3 cms as of tuesday, and the dr can feel her head during cervical/ pelvic exam :-) which is awesome because that means shes head down in the birthing canal and i "should" hopefully have a quick labor...i was SO OVERJOYED when i had heard "yes your 1cm,..2cms... 3cms DILATED" but quickly disappointed when my doctor also informed me NOT to focus on dilation because that has very little to do with when youll go into labor.. it just means that your cervix is open. she said worry more about effacement and how soft and low your cervix is...because even if your 7-10 cms dilated if your not effaced, soft and low...well the baby CANT get through and come and thats what causes women to be in labor for days or even have C sections...
so at your next appointment ask if your EFFACED AND HOW LOW & SOFT YOUR CERVIX IS !! GOOOOOOD LUCK KEEP ME POSTED!! HOPE YOU HAVE

i was 1 cm dilated for two weeks( starting at 34 weeks) then 2 cms dilated for 1 week(*starting at 36 weeks)
i went PASSED my due date by 4 days
DILATION HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHEN YOU ACTUALLY GO INTO LABOR! you can be 8 cms dilated and NOT BE IN ACTIVE LABOR which sucks but dont get your hopes up. i was soooo happy when drs kept saying i was dilated early bc well honestly the 9th month SUCKS but nope nope nope i went over! and i had tried everythign from nipple stimulation, to sex(lots of sex), to yoga, to walking daily, spicy foods, stretching, canola oil, everything,.... so good luck to you but when the baby is ready he/she will come...

i am 35 weeks and have been dilated for over a week now and im at 2 now but still no baby she is inducing me on the 9th due to GD but baby is looking great so it happends but keep us all posted

I'm in your same boat exactly. I was never really expecting to make it to my due date, because babies in my family have a history of coming early, but being completely normal and healthy. We shall see what happens! Good luck!

When I was 35 weeks I was already 2cm dialated and the baby was very low. I'm now 37 weeks 4 days and I'm still prego. But my doc thinks I won't make it to my due date. I'm waiting to see. Hope whatever the outcome is, u have a healthy baby.
