Q: Water breaking. When and where?

With my first I had a slow trickle water break. So slow I waited a day to make sure I was actually leaking. (Doc got mad about that!) anyway, 8 yrs later I'm having another and new doc said slow leak was rare and to not expect that again. So my question is, do most people "gush" fluid? Where were you when it happened? When (weeks and time of day)? Should I stop worrying about being at Walmart and suddenly looking like I peed myself??!?! Any stories/advice welcome. :)

My water broke at exactly 37 weeks. I am a teacher and was teaching when it happpened. Luckily for me it was more like a steady trinkle with small gushes when I would move suddenly. I wasnt sure if it was actually my water so I worked all day! Then I went to my dr and she sent me straight to the hospital and I had my daughter 5 hours later. I am really nervous that my water will really gush this time. I teach 12 year olds and I am not too sure that they could handle it!

And I'd suggest wearing depends pads or something like that. I plan to and if your water breaks you'll have some protection.

I've heard a lot of people only get a slow trickle when theirs pops. Mine broke while I was in the hospital bed. My guess would be that it was a gush because I had my epidural and all of a sudden my legs for really warm. I told the nurses and they looked and said my water broke. I'm worried about my water breaking either with family or out shopping. Luckily I live in a small town and it's a mile to the hospital I'm delivering at. And my home is only two long blocks away. lol not even a 5 minute drive.

Mine broke on its own in the hospital. Felt a pop and a flood of water under me. I have a lot of extra fluid with my pregnancies so that's why I had a flood!

my water broke in bed at 37 weeks. i was sleeping with my 3 year old at the time after she had a bad dream,,, i woke up after feeling the warmness of my water and i assumed my daughter had an accident and peed on me... didnt take long for me to figure out it was coming from myself!! it was a very steady stream for the next 3 hours, then it slowed down alot.

Mine broke at home in bed at 37 Weeks. My friends broke at 41 Weeks in the middle of McDonald playland. While she was yelling at 3 year old for wetting his pants. definitely a funny story to tell. Yes she laughs about it now.
