Q: 32 weeks pregnant ...belly is hardening and have dull ache/cramp feeling in back..help?

I am 32 weeks + 3 days pregnant with my first and last night I experienced for the first time what I thought was a braxton hick contraction...my belly went rock hard and felt very uncomfortable but not painful. I know it wasn't baby moving because However it lasted a whole 5 minutes! I thought that was too long for a braxton hicks contraction? Afterwards my back was very achy/crampy on one side for about half an hour then it went away and i went to sleep. Today I experienced what I think were a few more braxton hicks contractions and all day long I have felt an achey/crampy feeling radiating in my lower back area and extending around my sides. It feels like a back cramps I get when I have my period. It has been like this for hours. What is going on? Is this back cramping/aching caused by braxton hicks? Anyone know what is happening to me?

I use to experience this with BH all the time. It was horrible. Several times I thought I was really in labor. However, if it does persist and they become close together, lasting at least 1 minute, every five minutes, for an hour, call your OB. You don't want to take any chances!! Good luck!

This sounds like more than simple BH contractions. I would keep track of it at least and call your OB if it continues.

It sounds like BH. Making sure you're hydrated is huge and really does help the symptoms. My belly used to get rock hard and it was so uncomfortable...drinking more fluids helped.
