I'd take overnight because you bleed A LOT. You're essentially having 9 months worth of periods in a 4-6 week span (that's the best way that I can describe it). I don't know about where you're from, but I don't think I'll be bringing any with me because our hospital provides them (in Washington State). They're great; they're diapers that have had the back cut open and soft ice put inside to help with the swelling. I loved them. But I know others don't. So if you do choose to bring pads, bring the overnight ones.

The bigger the better!! You can actually buy maternity pads from the supermakets. Pack more than you think you need and also some cheap comfy throw away underwear :) That's what I did when I had my daughter.

This is my 6th baby. And with my 5 births the hospital always provided them. Sometimes they're not the ones I'd prefer so I bring a few of my own. I get the overnight pads.

In Queensland the hospitals only provide 1 or 2 patients have to provide our own, I took maternity pads as my bleeding was very heavey for the first week after bub was born.

I know that my hospital gives you a whole pack of them so I didn't bother packing them in my bag. Does anyone else's hospital do this?

I used the bigger ones and made sure to get ones with wings...so I wouldn't have an accident. I used the Always Maxi...they worked great...no sticking or uncomfortableness. You only need them for a few days and then you can swap to the regular thinner ones.

Buy the maternity ones, they aren't as chunky as you would think they are but they are way more adsorbent than regular or overnights. Everyone bleeds differently so you wont know till your in hospital, better to be safe than ruin heaps of undies!

Yup the large ones. My doula also suggested stay away from those dry line ones as they may stick to drives if you end up having so e down there.
