Q: What does it mean when you lose your mucus plug?

I will be 34 weeks Friday and im almost positive I lost my mucus plug last night.. Ive been cramping all day but nothing major.. What does it mean? Can labor start soon? I have already had to have labor stopped at 28 weeks.. Is it normal to lose your mucus plug so soon? Any way to know FOR SURE it was my mucus plug? This is my second pregnancy but i dont think i ever lost it with my first pregnancy (it was 4 years ago so i could just not remember lol) Any advice would be MUCH APPRECIATED!! :)

I had my ' bloody show ' (TMI, bloody mucus) at 36 weeks. Had my daughter at 37 weeks 5 days. So it took almost 2 weeks for me to go into labour. But if you are 34 weeks you should get check by your doctor. Good luck :)

Oh yah, I forgot to mention, if you lost your plug or think you lost it, call your doctor just in case (since your 34 weeks)

I heard ur mucus plug can regenerate so as not to worry bout it, it's not a solid indicater that u will go into labour straight away, as it can take weeks after losing for contractions to start (active labour) ur mucus plug is also known as a bloody show because sometimes it can be blood tinged (if it all blood u shld call ur doctor tho) also not everyone notices when they lose there mucus plug. But if ur stressed or worried I'd call ur doctor and ask him if he cld possibly check u out, just for safety measures!

Mucus Plug means your about to start labor. There's no exact date when your labor will start but losing a mucus plug is a sign. You can lose it all at once or you can lose it in bits of pieces.. I lost mine when I was about 39 weeks pregnant. I went into labor exactly at 41 weeks. Mucus plug looks like a big glob of booger (snot)..there can be brown/bloody tinge to it (which is a good sign).

I lost my plug at 37 weeks and went into labor at 40 weeks! I was also told that mucus plug regenerates but it should be clean with no blood when it does. Did it have blood mixed in with it?? Cause if it has blood you should go to your doctors giving the fact your 34 weeks. Good luck hun

Hi! I lost my mucus plug at 39 weeks exactly I then had my bloody show 2 days later and my contractions started around an hour after my bloody show so for me it ment labour was very soon. My mucus plug looked like a small round blob of green coloured stuff.. Sort of looked like snot (sorry tmi) I would say because your labour has already been stopped I would contact your doctor just to let them know. Good luck hun! X
