**update** went to the doctors today and she totally disagreed with the diagnosis of miscarriage looked at my ultrasound and said it looked completely normal and even suspects twins because of my high hcg levels (her words were very VERY high) sent me for another hcg quant and progesterone. Progesterone was in perfect range where it should be hcg hasent came back yet going for a ultrasound next week wish me luck ! :)

I would defiantly not come to the conclusion that you are miscarrying ! I bled up until week 9 , and at 5 weeks there was no heat beat didn't see it until after 6 weeks, and I'm now 19 weeks ! I would request another ultra sound in a week or two give baby time to develop a little further :-) def a good sign if you are still having pregnancy symptoms! good luck!

I went into the er at 5wks 6 days because I had the slightest pink in my cervical mucus. This is my fourth and it scared me. My hcg was 35518 at the time. The ultasound showed a developing embryo and yolk sac. The baby's heartbeat was 110 bpm. Because of the slight sign of blood they called it a threatened miscarriage. I am now 8wks 5 days and the baby's heartbeat was 176 bpm at the dating ultrasound. My er told me they have to call it something when you come in with any kind of bleeding. Personally I think they should reevaluate what they tell pregnant women early on. Just remember it's still early. Heck I keep asking my husband when he thinks I'll show. Congratulations on a happy and healthy pregnancy.

With my first pregnancy, I went to the ER for cramping & they told me I had a blighted ovum & was going to miscarry. That blighted ovum is a 2 year old little girl! Best wishes being sent your way!

6 weeks is really the earliest you would see one so it's normal that they didn't when you went in but you should definitely follow up this week now that it will have been enough time. I didn't realize you already had children so it may not be that weird to get some symptoms you had later in previous pregnancies earlier this time around. I think they should have told you what to look out for (heavy bleeding, cramping) and to see a doc in a week if nothing happened, not that you were for sure going to miscarry.

At 5 weeks and 6 days all they saw for me was the sac, no yolk sac or heartbeat but everything was measuring right on time I went back in my 7th weeks, baby measured right at 8 weeks with a heart rare if 161 bpm. I would never listen to a doctor about miscarriage that early on.
