Q: Measuring 6.7 pounds at 35 weeks will i be induced?

Do doctors induce if they think baby is going to be big. How big is she likely to be based on this scan? Thanks.

I know the federal law just changed and they will not induce before 38 weeks unless there are extreme circumstances. My son measured 5.4 at 32 weeks, he was born at 37 weeks and weighed 8 pounds 4 ounces. They said they would watch this more closely but that they can't and won't do anything before 38 weeks (which is fine by me). The problem with inductions before 38 is a higher chance for GERD. I was not induced with my son and we dealt with extreme GERD. I hope to never have to deal with that again.

It's diferent for every baby.. my doctor said I would have a 6 pound 15 oz baby I had a 6 pound 12oz. my two friends doctors said 6 pound babies for them and they 8 and a half pound babies.. also another friend had a 7 pound baby when she was induced for having a 9pound baby all same machines.. you shouldn't be induced because of that!! Good luck you will do great :)

6lb odd isn't that big of a baby , I doubt you will be induced when people are popping out 10 lbers lol If it's your first there's more of a chance of being over due not always the case though, gd luck x

Thanks for that. What is the chance of going into spontaneous labour before 40 weeks?

Not around here they wouldn't. My son was measuring at almost 8 lbs at 36w. He was 9lbs 3oz when he was born. He was not induced early- he was born at 39w3d.

Based on a scan weight can be off by at least pounds in either direction.
