Q: hcg levels normal?

I got my draw done at 4 weeks. Just got the results. 351. I am not 4 weeks 2 days. Dr told me they are low and thinks I have a tubal or will miscarry :s This is the highest level I have ever had at 4 weeks. My daughter was 101. Does this sound like a normal opinion? I will be going for a second opinion from my normal dr next week since I don't want to trust this doctor now.

I would Definitely want a 2nd opinion. I had mine done the day after I got positive pregnancy test & it was just 34 (I was 3w3d then) then I went back 4 days later at 4w0d & was at 215. Really the doubling is what matters. The numbers vary WIDELY from woman to woman.

I went to the doctor to confirm my pregnancy and the level was 189, which confirmed my 4 week pregnancy. I looked up the chart to be sure. The levels were spot on for the day I ovulated.

Maybe the chart will give you some comfort until the next time your levels are checked.

I would definitely get a 2nd opinion. Shame on your doctor!!! At 14dpo, which was exactly 4 weeks, my beta was only 54. And I'm 16 weeks now with a healthy active baby, after 3 miscarriages. Thank goodness you aren't worried and you seem smarter than your doctor!

I have no worries about my level myself. This doctor seemed more concerned on doubling time...The dr I am going to get a second opinion from confirms with one test then books an ultrasound to confirm a heart beat.
Is it normal for a dr to be this obsessed with levels basically? He didn't care about history of my past pregnancies and so far this one is my healthiest.

They vary a TON (a difference of over 5,000) all you have to worry about is the doubling rate. I had mine done at 5w4d and it was 3535. If I had your rates at your weeks then rose to 3535 then the doubling rate would actually be considered healthy at 40 hours. I saw my baby's heartbeat yesterday so I really think you need another opinion.

Is this the only draw you've had? I thought the key was in the doubling time, and you can't really tell too much by just one blood draw. Based on the following link you are within the normal range for 4 weeks though: http://americanpregnancy.org/duringpregnancy/hcglevels.html
