Q: Subchorionic Hemorrhage

I was diagnosed with a SCH at 10 weeks 3 days with no symptoms. I was told moderate exercise and work was fine but no sex for the next several weeks until we ultrasound again .
Now at over 11 weeks I have starting spotting brown and red blood .
I called and they said if I'm not going through a pad or cramping it should be ok .......

Anyone else have these same issues .....

At 8 weeks 6 days I was diagnosed with SCH. I was having period like bleeding and cramping/stabbing pains in my lower abdomen. I had an ultrasound and baby was moving around fine and had a heart rate of 171 bpm. They told me no sex, no lifting and stay off my feet as much as possible, and also get plenty of rest. Since following the doctors orders the bleeding is just now random brown spotting and not really any cramping, I go back in 3 days to get checked again :)

Wow ok thanks I did notice more blood after a long walk yesterday :/
It does sound promising that it usually is not pregnancy ending :)
Trying to not worry seems like an impossible task ......
Also thanks for the web site :)

On BabyCenter, there is a SCH support group that I gathered a LOT of support from during the times I thought things were at their worst. Copy and paste this link and check it out. LOTS of women on there with SCHs...early and late in their pregnancies. Also many women who have already had their babies that come back to the group to support the newly diagnosed women.

Yes. I've had a few SCH pregnancies, this one included. My SCH started out at 6 weeks being 2-3cm in length with minimal to moderate bright red/dark red bleeding. I spotted red, reddish brown and brown until 14 weeks, when I gushed a watery bright red fluid. My SCH was 9.24cm in length when that happened. At our 18 week anatomy scan, the SCH shrank to 4cm in length and around that time I stopped bleeding/spotting altogether. My SCH is still somewhere in there, but too tiny to measure. I'm almost 37 weeks.

Pelvic rest is a must...I wouldn't even exercise. I'd take it as easy as possible. A SCH is caused by a burst blood vessel in the uterus, so you want to slow down and heal. Any heavy lifting or lots of walking can really make things worse.

I also am a huge believer in natural healing. Kale smoothies, veggies, fruits and organic whole-food vitamins (New Chapter or Vitamin Code). I really think this is how I made it all the way.
