Q: What are the chances I will miscarry if heart rate is slow at 8weeks?

I had an US done by doc y2 days ago at 8 weeks since LMP. Then another one done (second opinion) at a radiology lab. Heart beat looked strong today, but doc did not see it 2 days ago. A week ago said heart rate was slow. Have not gotten any rate measurements as of yet. What are chances I am going to miscarry? Anyone else ever had a hb disappear, then reappear and did you carry to term?

@estone: all have been transvaginal except 1:
Prior scans were all transvaginal, done by my RE who had said it wasn't that strong last week, then there was no hb on another transvaginal US a week later (2 days ago).
After going for a second opinion US, I discovered my RE ordered a transvaginal & transabdominal US, which surprised me since I thought for sure it was only going to be a transvaginal one and doing a transabdominal one seemed be going backwards?? Then I saw the heartbeat myself on US at the radiology lab.

Did you have a Transvag or abdominal ultrasound? If it was abdominal, it isn't surprising that the heart rate seemed low or was unmeasurable. I'm sure all is fine. Good luck.

I think its encouraging that your doctor said it was strong. I am saying my prayers for your little bean to stick! You could have ovulated a bit later than expected and may just be early. Keep your chin up! Sending you so many healthy, happy, and calming thoughts!

@TaylorRoseB: Thanks for the reply. The heart rate "can't be measured" according to the US technician. I could see the valves flapping, but the vertical bars (representing each heart beat) at the bottom of the screen were blurred and the tech said she could not measure it because of that. I wish I had thought of it, but I could have timed it somehow because I remember heart rate units are in beats per minute.
