Q: According to U/S...I am 6w0d today and beta hcg level is a 12,000...is this a normal level for 6wks?

I went to ER last night due to cramping and low back pain. They did blood work and u/s. I thought I was 6w4d when I went in but u/s showed 5w6d with no noticeable fetal development or heart beat. My beta hcg level was/is 12,000. They say it is too early to tell if there is anything wrong and the only thing to do is have more blood work done in 2 days to see if hcg is multiplying. Is 12,000 a good level for 6w0d in pregnancy?

According to the HCG Beta doubling chart on here, at 1-2 months it should me somewhere between 5,000 and 200,000, so it sounds like you're within where you should be for beta testing :)

After your HCG gets that high the doubling time takes a lot longer. When I was 5 weeks and 6 days my HCG was about 10,000 and my daughter was born January 28th of this year. Don't stress yourself out.
