Q: High HCG levels at 6 weeks... twins or no?

I ended up in the ER when I was exactly 6 weeks due to dehydration. Severe morning sickness that lasts all day and night yay! =/ Also, was having some sharp pelvic pains so I wanted to make sure everything was ok. Come to find out I had a bladder infection, but they checked my hcg level and it was over 60,000 and when they did an ultrasound I'm measuring right on track at exactly 6 weeks.
There was a smaller sac next to the gestational sac which they said was a "bleed" but I swear I thought I saw another yolk sac inside that smaller sac. I'm not a doctor though and I know I should trust that they know what they are doing but 6 weeks is pretty early and I've heard from so many different women having the same experience and ending up with twins.
Thoughts?

I have another scan coming up in a week anyway so hopefully all is well =) I know my levels are still rising because my nausea meds only work for about an hour or two and it's supposed to last 8 hours... and even then it's a struggle to eat anything. They didn't even tell me the exact number my hcg was at at 6 weeks when I was in the hospital they just said it was "over 60,000" lol and then told me it was much higher than they expected.

At 7 weeks my HCG was 100400 so I really think HCG has nothing to do with it.

I'm expecting twins- at 7w4d, my HCG levels were 77,000. If you're not satisfied, and you think that it could be another baby, ask for another scan in a couple of weeks!

Thanks =) Yeah I think I was just hoping it was twins because it's slightly less terrifying than a bleed. Trying to hope for the best though <3

At 6 weeks my HCG was 56900 and I only have one, I read your journal entry about the SCH and then saying it was quite large.... I would trust your doctors that its a bleed an not another baby. If the worst was to happen because of the SCH I would hate for you to feel like you are losing 2 instead of one. FX that it shrinks away and doesn't effect bub!

Honestly I am realllllly hoping it's just one as we are not prepared for two lol! However if that were the case we would do our best to get everything ready. I have an appointment with my OB in 9 days so hopefully we will know for sure what's going on then. If it is indeed a bleed I'm hoping to see it quite a bit smaller by then!

At 5.5 weeks my levels were over 55000. But just one bean on board.. With a previous pregnancy I did have a bleed next to the sac- looked exactly as you described like a smaller sac overlapping the gestational sac.. I'm gonna say just one bub

I should note that the "sac" that they said was bleeding was kind of overlapping the gestational sac. Legit looks like another gestational sac. Wish they would've given me a picture..
