Q: 8 week scan measuring 7+4 bit good hb

my scan didn't go too well, at the start we couldn't see bub at all then we found it but couldn't see the hb, doc measured it at 7+4 looked around for a few more min and still couldn't see the hb, we did see it move but!! So I picked it up for a few seconds listening to it then we did a vag u/s doc could see the hb bit I couldn't really so we listened for it and there it was pumping away, it measured 171bpm last week ( 6 daysbefore) measured 145, iI'm just hoping it was just the scan that made the measurements off, anyone with a similar experience??

I did a tummy scan at a different place last week and measured perfect but this machine was a lot different quality, last week the hb was so easy to see, you couldnt miss it were as this week on diff machine everything was way more blurry and harder to see.

I'm surprised they even bothered within external scan that early! I had to have transvaginal ultrasounds until 11 weeks as they couldn't see bub from the outside at all before then xx

You can measure up to 2 weeks off and everything still be fine. Baby will grow at a faster pace as you progress. Don't worry!

I wouldnt worry about the measurements at this point, its still very early. My 8+2 dating scan measured 7+5 (4 days off lmp and 2 days off O day) with a FHR of 161bpm. Her HR was at 147 by my 13+2 scan and she was ahead (1 day lmp and 3 days O day) and measures ahead ever since. Its only a couple days off and both FHR's are good, he/she's just off to a slow start, he'll catch up.
