I hope I didn't come across trying to sound judgmental, I just was giving my story. You have to decide for yourself. But I will say this, I was working and had to quit and give up all I had done when I had my son, and my hubby and I struggled for years and still do, financially, but my son is very thankful for our decision, as are we. If you want info, I'd be glad to help you. And I wish you luck with whatever decision you make, as I said, I'm not trying to judge any decision as you have to do what's best for your family. I still say your odds aren't bad, they told me 1 out of 25 with my son. I'm sure all will turn out just fine, but I do understand your anxiety. Like I said, if you like you can message me :)

I had a friend who was due to give birth at 38 she was a 1 in 200 chance she didn't have the needle through the sac to take fluid as she decided she was having the baby no matter what, the baby was born perfect.

This is a decision only you can make, we all have different views and opinions on this matter. If you have the test you can then decide and make your decision or choose if you'd rather not know.

Best of luck hun x

Well your odds are still low but what would be the point of an amnio unless you plan to terminate? I had my first at 25 but even though u/s showed possible Downs I didn't do amnio but that's because I'd keep them no matter what. Just have faith. I know it's a scary prospect but my son has changed our lives and affected so many others in a positive way. I didn't see how far along you are but you can get blood work if you are early enough that's risk free to baby to check. Otherwise I know people who've had amnios that were wrong saying baby would have downs and didn't so be prepared with whatever decision you make that nothing is 100%. I'm sure you'll be fine but if you ever have any questions or anything you can message me. I always say I'd take the downs over autism any day of the week :). Right now statistics show a higher odd of autism happening than downs. Good luck and I'm here if you need reassurance.

1:304 is still very low.. Low risk is 1:300 so you fall in the low risk category.. Ask for the harmony test if you need extra peace of mind.. If that comes back worrying you could always have cvs or amino done xx

We didn't have this happen but because I am 39 my dr said we were higher risk for d/a so gave us the harmony test to be sure - you should ask your dr about it, it was just a blood test that was done at 13 weeks - it took 2 very long weeks for the results to come back but it is over 99% accurate so would be able to give you an answer. Good luck!
