Q: Painting while pregnant?

I am going to ask my doctor next week when I go for my glucose test, but in the mean time I was wondering what other's doctors have said about painting while pregnant? We need to get started on the nursery and need to paint first.

Lowe's and Home Depot carry low vapor/novapor paint. You just have to ask.

CIL makes a low VOC and low odour paint. It's available in Walmart in Canada, so I'm sure that they would have it in the US. http://www.walmartpaintprojectcentre.ca/search/#item40. It is what we used and it paints like a dream.

As long as the room is well ventilated, and it is low or no VOC (which most paint is now anyways) you're safe! I painted by sons nursery in 2012 by myself, and a friend & I painted the twins' nursery last weekend :)

I helped my husband paint our nursery. We kept the windows and door open though and the air conditioner was on to help circulate the air. If the smell got strong I'd step out for a while.
