Q: Folic acid during pregnancy

Hi to all mommies out there! I am just concerned. Because i am taking folic acid since i am 4 weeks pregnant. Then 1 week ago, i decided to take anmum materna ad well. My reason is i am losing of appetite to eat and i am really not eating healthy food. Now i read that too much folic acid is bad. And i am scared because i am taking 2.5mg folic acid tablet then anmum materna i drink 1 glass a day whic contains 200 ug of folic acid per serving. Am i taking too much? Please help. I am 7 weeks pregnant.

I have been on 4 mg folic acid - it was recommended by a maternal fetal medicine specialist. Congrats!!!

I took 5mg while ttc and up til 12wk (OB was the one who told me to take that dose), I lowered it to 3mg after the first tri cuz its not needed as highly. U'll be fine, dont worry! =))

It's deff not too much! I am on 5mg a day. Your total amount is still only 2.7mg of folic acid.. So your all safe

You can ask the pharmacist at any pharmacy as well or call. Our just ask ur Dr.

I think they recommend 800mg a day. My multivitamin has 400 and I take 2.
