Q: Preterm Labor at 27 weeks with first babe

I'm 27 weeks and the last 2 weeks have had contractions. I'm 1.5cm dilated and 50% effaced. I had a fetal fibronectin test yesterday and it came back positive, so I'm on bed rest now and on procardia to stop the contractions. Anyone start with preterm labor this early or have positive ffn test and get close to term??

Well I can't speak from personal experience, but a friend of mine was just recently in the same situation as you. 27 weeks she ended up in the hospital on bedrest and had to stay there til she delivered (kind of a long story but this hospital was the closest one with a NICU and my friend lived 130 miles away so she wasn't allowed to be on bedrest at home)
Anywho, she lasted til 37 or 38 weeks and delivered a healthy 7+ pound baby =) I will keep you in my thoughts, it is such a scary situation. It is amazing though how much bedrest can help.
