Q: Double Strollers: Experiences and Opinions wanted!

In september I will have a baby girl, so I'm going to have 2 kiddos just under a year apart. That means I'm going to need some sort of double stroller I think lol. I really like the ones that the kids can face each other, but I haven't been able to find them! I just see people with them. I also like the ones where the kids sit side by side and there's just one front wheel. I think those are considered jogging strollers. My husband is worried those are too wide, and impractical. That leaves us with just the ones where the big kid faces forward from the back, or the baby faces me in the back in a car seat. Neither of those seem like much fun for the kids. Anyone have experience with double strollers? I don't want to get something that actually isn't helpful and causes more issues, like if the jogging ones are too wide for grocery shopping etc. Thanks!

I think the type of pram you are looking for is called Twin pram as I think double prams are mainly prams where the siblings sit in front of each other. We have the EasyWalker Duo Plus Double and it's an extremely practical, flexible pram that really does fit through every doorframe! I bought it on www.prams.net they have quite a large selection of double/twin prams. You can also adjust the seats so the babies face you and if the kids are older they can see whats going on around them.

Try searching on Amazon for Tandem double strollers. I got a lot of hits from that.

Peg Perego has a double side by side jogging type stroller with 1 front wheel. It may be a little pricey though.

Estone - those look soooo cool, but unfortunately out of my price range. Thanks for the insight though!
Eag - I've looked at those before and it is definitely on our list. It's in our price range, and I do like that it can go in different ways. I'm only 5' 4" so I get what your saying about big and bulky.

Thanks ladies!!

I have the Graco Ready2Grow lx & it is awesome! I could not ask for a better double stroller. It is well constructed & surprisingly small for a double stroller. I'm only 5'1, so something that was big & bulky wasn't an option for me. The kids sit one in front of the other, you can attach the car seat when the baby is still small, it has 12 different positions for the kiddos. I get asked about it in public a lot too, so I must not be the only one impressed.

My kids are 15 months apart. Yes, a double stroller has saved my life, especially when I take them both by myself. I have the City Select Baby Jogger. It can be used as a single or double stroller. It is expensive, but worth it in my opinion. You have to buy the second seat separate and also the car seat adaptor separate, but it has over 20 different positions you can have the kids in. It folds up nicely and it isn't too bulky like some of the other double strollers.
