Q: went for a u/s today and yolk sac seen but saying im less than 5 weeks

i had a scan today thinking i was near 6 weeks or more bfp on the 18th of june.. but the u/s tech states im less than 5 weeks, i saw the gest sac and yolk sac, she said she thinks she can see something on the very edge which maybe a baby.i have to go back in 10 days for a new scan, everything i have read states that a yolk sac would not be seen until 5 weeks, im so confused right now.My pregnancy symptoms have somewhat gone away , just feel mildly tired and achy.Do you think it a missed miscarriage and why would they not say today if it was ..the nurse said everything looks normal for this stage..what stage? x

I had very light pink on TP when I thought I was about 6 weeks, due to me having a miscarriage in 2012 I panicked and went to the ER... I was actually measuring 5weeks 4days, my BETA level was 10,000 and they found the sak but no fetal pole, nor heartbeat. The ER dr was convinced that I had a blighted ovum, stating that at such a high level they should be able to at least see a fetal pole. I followed up at my OB a week later and they found the heartbeat and fetal pole! Its actually very common to not see anything that early. My OB explained that is the reason they dont want to schedule your first appointment until 9 weeks at their office. Best of luck to you!

In the UK they don't normally send us for a scan before the end of the 6wks mark because you can't see much.
Your symptoms will come and go from time to time, I agree with estone a little longer of a wait and it should all be clear.
Rest well hunni x

You are only 5-6 weeks pregnant, so it is still very early. All of my early scans before 6 weeks only showed a g/s and a y/s. At my next u/s at 7 weeks, I could see the baby and hb. When you go back, I'm sure you will see a baby and hb. The spot on the edge the nurse saw was probably the fetal pole, which will turn into the baby.
