Also get bigger nipple cones! The ones the Medela comes with are a joke. I have tiny nipples and the standard size tore them up. My lactation nurse says most eomen need the large size, some exta large.

Medela. I've heard nothing but good things about it. And it's what I have and plan to use when baby gets here next week.

Susan makes a good point - any milk going thru tubes is going to be a hassle. I would check each one's design first to make sure you don't have to deal with that. With my Medela the tubes were just there for suction power, but milk went from you, thru the funnel, thru a plastic valve, and into the bottle. Very easy clean up, but they absolutely could have changed designs. One thing you don't want to have to worry about is annoying clean up all the time

I have a medela although I only got to use it a few times as my old pump from Advent just fell to pieces.
I was comfortable and quiet getting much more then my last.

I used the Ameda Purely Yours too and loved it, it worked great and was really easy to clean. I chose that one because it was the only one where the milk didn't go through the tubes so there was less chance of mold.

Everyone swears by medela which I have yet to try but am going to with this baby, I did use the Ameda purely yours double electric though for my last and it worked amazing!! I would say either of those. I would however just advise AGAINST the first years mipump, they are so uncomfortable on the nipples and with my first years manual I could never manage to get any milk out, not even a drop, it just did not work for me at all, and they are wayyy cheaper in store than the other 2 choices so if your insurance is going to pay for one of those pick one of the better quality and more expensive ones!! :) Google reviews on both of them to decide even, I know that helps me make decisions when trying to decide between 2 similar products. :)

Ive also heard of the Medela being the best. I never personally used any yet but now thanks to this question I am. I had no idea it could be covered by insurance I called today and Im 100% covered and actually have to choose from the same brands as well. So thank you for asking this question!

I bought the Medela one online when I was pregnant with my son, and it was great! I have no experience with the other ones, but I loved my Medela. This time around I think I'm also going to invest in a cheap little hand pump too. Even though the medela comes in a great bag and is convienent, there's times I just don't want to sit there and listen to the hummmmmm lol. I'd rather just hand pump quick and get it over with. That's really the only downside I saw, and I think all motored ones would do that.
