Q: The arch and heel of my foot hurts. I'm only 5 weeks pregnant. Anyone else experience this?

I'm 42 and got my BFP on 7/11 from IVF #2. I was on bed rest after transfer and my left foot started aching. Was told to go get tested right away for a possible blood clot which fortunately was negative. A week later I wake up and my right foot (arch and heel) hurts so bad I cannot put weight on it. I'm only 5 weeks pregnant. This is my first pregnancy so this is all new to me. Has anyone else experienced this? My first ultrasound is August 1st and my DH thinks we will be pregnant with twins? We will see.

yes, If it is the same thing as I experienced, I've always thought it is odd too. I will also wake up in the morning and it hurts - no explanation. I can stretch out my leg with my heel pointed out before I get up and that helps sometime too.

Thank you Allison. I will look into that. It just seems weird that the pain started while on bed rest and hurts even while laying down.

this sounds something similar to what I have. It's called Plantar Faciaitis (not sure about the spelling). I got several years, started wearing shoes with a good arch support, nothing flat, that helps a lot I've tried rolling a frozen bottle of water under my food, that helps a lot. I wore a foot brace got from my podiatrist. It comes and goes for me. It started back a couple weeks into pregnancy, now I wear the brace and arch support tennis shoes all the time. I've noticed that it hurts worse the walking around I do with less support
