Q: Help?

Has anyone ever got BV when they was pregnant if so how did your obgyn test you for it and what did they have you do to get rid of it? I'm 18 weeks and 3 days and I think have BV because of some white discharge and an odor and I also want to know if what the doctor has you do works really well, cause I've heard of it coming back worse than before.

You have to get a swab done to test for it. I had it around the same time, I had a yeast infection and took the vaginal pills for that and then it turned into BV so I had to take oral antibiotics to get rid of it. It might be just a yeast infection but if it's BV you should go get tested from your doctor because yeast infection meds won't clear it up. Hope that helps, and mine didn't come back worse, your doctor will probably keep asking you if you still have any discharge afterwards to make sure it doesn't come back, it's only harmful if you have it around the time your going to deliver as they don't want you to push your baby through an infection. So as long as you don't have it then you'll be fine, yeast infections and BV are very common and more likely to happen during pregnancy.
