Q: I'm a ftm and 6 weeks pregnant. Do I have a sinus infection or abscess tooth?

Last week I started getting really congested and a few days later started feeling pressure in my right cheek, eye, and jaw. I used a netti pot in hopes that would help, but ended up going to my Dr who prescribed me amoxicillin for a sinus infection. I'm 4 days into the antibiotics and still only feeling slightly better. The pain in my teeth and right eye or so bad during the middle of the night I usually get up and use the neti pot to try to get rid of some of the pain.
I called my dentist to see if they could take a look at my mouth but I'm only 6 weeks pregnant & they won't see me without a note from an Obgyn. I did ivf and am still on progesterone shots and suppositories. I'm wondering if these meds are counteracting the antibiotics? Has anyone ever heard of this happening?

That's probably something you should ask your Dr. I had an absessed tooth a few months ago and I know its hell. I ran a fever and my face swelled up and hurt so bad I couldn't open my mouth wide enough to fit a straw through my teeth! When I got on antibiotics it took a few days to start feeling better. The tricky thing about sinus pain and pressure is you feel it in your whole face, so it may just be a sinus infection. If you don't start feeling better soon I would go back to your Dr. Good luck and I pray you start feeling better!
