Q: Morning sickness throughout pregnancy

Facing the idea that I may be stuck on anti sickness tablets for a lot longer then I was hoping for as I am 17+4 and still pretty bad without the meds, I was wondering how many other ladies have suffered with HG or MS for their entire pregnancy or are you facing a pregnancy with constant nausea and sickness?
Have you or are you taking any medications for it?

No one I know seems to have suffered more than feeling a bit off color for a week or two. Feeling a little alone in this as it seems to confuse people that I am still so bad especially if I try to come of the tablets.

Hi,
I had HG throughout my last successful pregnancy (had to get IV fluids depite being on meds)..but this pregnnacy (12 wks thus far) I have found that B6 10mg three times a day, in addition to my pre-natal helps alot. I still need Zofran once a day - and am worse in the afternnon with the nausea - but I definately recommend the B6.

I was in Ireland a month ago and was told by a nurse that they prescribe Cariban with great success..I am in UK and not been able to get it but Cariban is a combination of b6 and an anti-histamine.

I'm still having mild nausea and vomiting on the odd occasion, so perhaps my experience should be taken with a healthy pinch of salt. We've been going the drug-free route as much as possible, relying on Homeopathy for treating any ailments. There are apparently a bunch of remedies that could be recommended for treatment, but I've had reasonable luck with 200C of both Nox Vomica and Ipecac.

Keeping everyone in my thoughts and I hope the suffering abates soon!

You are not alone, I am 19 weeks and have only just started feeling better in the last two weeks or so. I thought it was never going to end!! It was so bad that I seriously never wanted to be pregnant ever again!! I never took any meds for it as I didn't feel comfortable taking then. Hopefully you start feeling better soon and you can start enjoying this pregnancy :)

Thank you all for your replies, it's tough sometime and a little daunting but having the pills means I can still enjoy it and of course I can eat and drink. MDD2011 that article was fascinating and very reassuring.
Chestnutroast I will hope for that 5 month mark and thank you, people who don't suffer can't get their heads around it despite it being such a common issue, even done drs don't understand the severity.
Iyssa7172 you have my thoughts, I'm lucky the pills make it a lot less of an issue although I'm glad you are managing and it makes me appreciate my medication. x x x

awww that is no fun at all!! With my son I was sick nearly every day of the pregnancy. I had a few weeks around 22-27 that were fantastic. With this baby it's been hell from day 1 to 21 weeks and then again from 28 weeks to where I am now, at 32. Now I'm vomiting several times a day. I keep maybe 3 meals down per week. I tried ginger, I've tried zofran, and my dr even tried a different, stronger medication, but nothing helps. I still get sick, and sometimes also have side effects. So for me personally I just deal with it. I drink TONS of juice and water and that helps immensely. That way I'm not dehydrated, and throwing up water isn't that difficult on the throat. I really hope you find something to help! You are not alone!

One of my friend suffered with it for all 4 of her pregnancie.
Thats how she knew she was pregnant cause it would start from conception till giving birth.
It's sounds terrible to have it all the way through. Someone else told me they was sick for the first 5 months.
Lets hope you're a till 5month woman.
Sorry i know it's no help really but they're more woman suffering from it than ppl think.

Same for me! 35 weeks today and still feeling nauseated all the time. I've been on meds since about 7 weeks. The last couple weeks I haven't taken the meds, no vomiting, but still nausea. I think some women just experience MS much longer! My husband sent me this article (yesterday actually) to make me feel better....

Thanks for the reply hun. That sounds the same as me, when I'm in the tablets I can function and feel okay despite the odd nauseating moments but without them I can kiss functionality goodbye.

I've had extreme hg throughout I'm now 28 weeks and even though it's well controlled now on meds if I miss a dose I'm hugging the toilet bowl again.. The vomiting has really only eased up in the past week but I'm still puking at least once a day
