Thank you. Yes they do come and go but they dont feel like contractions as they might last like 15-20 minues. Sometimes they last a lot shorter. I went to l&d last night to check progression and I was still 4.5 cm 80% effaced but I am having contractions that I am not thinking are contractions so that must be what the period pains are. They weren't regular so they told me I could go home.

That actually sounds like my actual labor. I wasn't displayed at all before hand. When I was 40w 6d, I started getting period like cramps that kept coming and going (contractions) getting mire and more painful. I was in Labor before I was admitted for 3 days and had gotten to 4 cm. Are your cramps coming and going? If so, I would have to say they are contractions! Either way, I think it will go quickly now! That's how my labour started period like cramps for about 15 hours before my water broke and the real contractions started.
