Q: Can you have a vbac after 2 c-sections?

Hi all, was just wondering if after having 2 sections you can have a successful vbac, I had an emergency C in 2007 with my daughter and now that I'm 7 months pregnant with my second I'm contemplating having another section. I do want to expire nice a vbac at least once but not sure if this time is it, my husband wants another child 3-5 yrs from now so if I can have the vbac than maybe I'll do that. The reason I'm contimplating another C this time around are as follows
1) I had such a horrible labor the first time that I'm petrified to experience that again
2) my husband works in the city which is 1-2 hrs away and I don't want him to miss the birth of his child, if we schedule a C I know he will be there.
3) no painful contractions or waiting for them to happen
The reasons I want a vbac are
1) the experience, bonding, no surgery
2) the recovery time is shorter, and less painful

I'm not sure which I want any advice would be greatly appreciated TIA

It is definitely possible to have a VBAC even after multiple C-sections. It's really up to your personal preference, but I would definitely investigate some of the medical pros/cons of c-sections (there's been a lot of recent research lately on potential long-term risks of c-sections, as opposed to the benefits of vaginal birth).

I'd have a talk with a health professional who is familiar with both and won't necessarily advocate one or the other for convenience's sake-- after all, the goal is a healthy baby and mom, right?

Congrats! I think it depends on the circumstances surrounding your previous labors. I am not in the medical field, but I had an emergency c section with my 1st after 15 hrs of labor. It was exhausting and not at all what I envisioned as I couldn't even see him right away. My second baby I opted for the VBAC because they are 6 yrs apart. I was told by my Dr I had a 50/50 shot at being successful based on my birth history previously. I am short and don't have the widest hips. My mom had difficulty delivering me 6 weeks early at only 4lbs and this led them to believe why I had trouble the first time. The baby never dropped into my pelvis to keep labor going. With my second, they let me go nearly a week over due and no labor, so long story short I ended up taking the scheduled c section. It was an incredible experience. Not stressful and I was able to hold my son right away and nurse within an hour. I vote for the section, but don't let others discourage you if you truly want the VBAC.

I had an emergency section with my son and we scheduled another csection with my daughter. Totally different experiences and I will definitely schedule another section if I have any more children. With my daughter, I never felt that I missed out on any bonding, as she was placed on my chest literally right after birth and started breastfeeding within an hour. I felt I missed the first born bonding time with my son because he was born via emergency csection at 34 weeks.

If a doctor is willing, you might be able to have a VBAC after, but I don't know.

Sorry I can't answer the Vbac part but I opted for a section with my 2nd by c-section through fear of having another emergency on but I had been in pain alot through out the pregnancy and so far I haven't come across anyone who has said they was given a vbac after 2 sections. After 2 sections they tend to only want to do sections so if you really don't need to have one a vaginal birth can happen with out to many problem, i know a few who had an emergency section and has had perdectly fine vaginal births afterwards.
It was the pain and living an hr and half away from the hospital that made me gi for a section but it's you're choice in the end.
Theres woman out there who have had many more than 3 sections and no complications at all it's purely indiviual , i cam across a mum who had 8 sections and said no problems with any of them.
This will be my 3 rd section and no choice. I have 13 yrs between my 2 children and 4 yrs will be between this baby and my 2nd section.
