Q: Bed Rest...any suggestions? I start today for 4 weeks.

I first want to start off with saying my husband is awesome and he's cool with us putting our son in daycare when he's at work and me just laying on the couch all day. I am...not. lol. I want my kid home withe just a couple days per week. My doctor didn't give me a specific list of to does or not do's. Just a script for no work. What do you ladies do or not do on bed rest?

This isn't as serious as pre-e thank goodness! I can't imagine how rough that must have been! They diagnosed mewith an irritable uterus and set me home with a script saying no work until 8/28. II'm not dilating at all even though I keep having consistent contractions after half a day at work. No uti, no hydration issues. Basically they just want me to lay low so I don't have more contractions and need to come back in a 3rd 4th etc time to get checked

I would say that it would depend on what you are bed rest for. In my opinion, your Dr. would specify what you can or cannot do. I would ask just to be clear. When I was pregnant with my son my daughter was 16 months and he was so serious about bed rest (due to preeclampsia) that he admitted me to the hospital until I could deliver (which was a little over a month). Good Luck to you!
