Q: Feeling really frustrated, any similar experiences? Consistent contractions, no labor.

I'm 35 weeks now and getting reeeally frustrated. I've had my consistent contractions stopped with shots twice now since 30 weeks. Last night I was back AGAIN in L&D with contractions every 3 minutes for hours and hours. Since I'm 35 weeks they didn't stop it this time, but I STILL have a closed cervix. What the heck?! I'm feeling really discouraged because I'm fine with baby staying in there longer like she should, but I live an hour away from the hospital, and all they say is "if it's worse than this come in" every time. Last night they were bad enough I had/or wanted to, walk around thru them and they wrapped around my back. So I did what I was told and came in because they were more than just uncomfortable. This time I guess I won't go in until I can't talk thru them? Anyone else have issues with consistent contractions that do nothing for the cervix?! I don't know where to go from here.

I'm 20 weeks and have been diagnosed with an irritable uterus so I get them daily unless I rest up.
They have nothing to do with my cervix and if I over do it I can't sit or stand because it feels as if my back and stomach muscles are stuck on tight. If I have to sit for too long they feel ten times worse.
Lucky for me I've found an equal amount of gentle activity mixed with laying on my side have cut them down in frequency leaving only a few braxtons to freak with.

I've been told is all good practicev for the body but at the moment its just annoying.

I had them with #2 from 29 wks on. More than likely it is an irritable uterus, which is fairly common. I suffered through them from 29 wks until my water broke at my drs office at 37 wks (which I was crying about bc I really wanted to make it to full term since I didn't make it to term with my first). If your water breaks, you can't talk through them, or if your gut tells you something is wrong, then go in. I feel for you! I've been there!

YES! Since 23 weeks I have had tons of contractions - not irregular, occasional, non-painful contractions, but consistent, usually regular, powerful contractions, EVERYDAY. Sometimes almost back to back, although usually it's every 2-3 minutes 30-40 seconds apart for hours, and then they space out. I am so over it. I have been on medications to "stop" them until last week when I turned 34 weeks. My cervix is dilated and 50% effaced, but it has been that way for several weeks. I don't want her to come early, but at the same time I am so incredibly tired, and stressed out from feeling like I've been on high alert for the past 10 weeks.

I totally understand the frustration. I am torn between waiting to go in until my water breaks and contracting regularly or I'm crowning. I'm supposed to call for x,y or z, they tell me to come in, then they act like I shouldn't be there b/c I am not dilating - something I can't tell from home! Can't wait to be done for so many reaso
