Q: Normal HcG and Progesterone levels in early pregnancy?

Hi everyone -

I'm 4 weeks 1 day along with my fourth pregnancy. Our previous three have all been losses, so we're understandably anxious about this pregnancy.

I had blood work done today and my levels are 776 for hcg and 96.2 for progesterone. In looking online I think these seem a little high for how far along we are... has anyone had similar numbers and gone on to have a healthy baby? Or what were your numbers at 4w1d?

Thanks!

Hey, as long as your level's rises that is a good sign, my level at 4 weeks and 5 days was 4066(hgc) I have had two miscarriages and one beautiful little girl. I am now nearly 14 weeks pregnant with my 4th pregnancy which the hgc of 4066 was, I only had the hgc once due to after your hgc reaches 1000 they should be able to see something on scan a day later we saw the sac, another week later saw the heart beat :) Good luck they look perfect!

Yes Canada needs converting. They do not measure it the same as the US they measure it the same as Australia, England, New Zealand etc, you divide your number bu 3.18 and then it is the same as the US and most of the charts online, Your numbers are still fine, so no need to even worry just telling you for an FYI. Your progesterone levels are good! No need for conversion at all.. Anything over 20 is considered good so yours are excellent.. Mine were exactly 96 at 15dpo :) with one of my previous losses they got up to 500.. And I know girls that have had 1400+ but they had twins
With a level of 96 it's likely you ovulated more than one follicle but if it's twins you usually end up with super high progesterone (atleast a couple of hundred) wishing you all the best xx

I also had 4 losses and a D&C so I know the HCG drama very well. Ours would rise and fall, and leave us in HCG limbo for weeks before we finally lost it. At 4 weeks 1 day mine were typically 100-250 so yours sounds great! Hoping for a sticky bean!

Thanks everyone!

stickybean - I'm in Canada so not sure if a conversion is necessary... I've never been given a progesterone level so am not sure how to read it. I've also had 2 d&c's. It's been a very emotional journey. Congrats on your ultrasound! We're not scheduled for our first one for another 3.5 weeks...

I am guess you are like me and not from America with those progesterone levels, commonwealth countries measure progesterone levels in nmol/L not ng/mL like the USA so to convert it you divide your number by 3.18 and that converts it. But I'm not sure where you are from.

My levels are higher than that and they thought I was having twins because I was on clomid and ovulated more than one egg. However only 1 had a U/S today.

They are excellent levels and so far it sounds good for you. I too have had 4 losses in a row so we know a lot can happen from week to week I have also had 3 d&C surgeries.

Focus on your levels for this pregnancy which are perfect so far. If you can continue to get them monitored.

Wishing you the best of luck for a healthy bean.

I'm a UK girl and level checks are not really done because everyone differs and there isn't really a standard this is why some people take a pregnancy test early and get their positive where as some ladies don't get a positive till after their missed period.
