Q: Could my girlfriend be pregnant?

We had sex last week on the 19th and it was protected. I used a condom and I also didn't ejaculate. I also made sure that the condom wasn't broken in case of precum going inside of her. Three days ago, she had headaches during the middle of the day and kept wanting to throw up. Two days ago she was fine, but last night she said she feels like throwing up again. Now today, she threw up twice again. Could she be pregnant? And will using a pregnancy test one week and 2 days after sex be accurate?

It is advised that people wait until they have missed their period before taking a pregnancy test as false negatives are more likely to occur before that point.

Do not believe for a second that pre-ejaculate doesn't happen. It's a real thing and condoms can have holes. The chances of fertilisation in this scenario is slim, but it is not impossible.

Finally: there is also the chance that your girlfriend has caught a stomach virus or had food poisoning. In either case, take care of her and help make sure that she's getting plenty if fluids - dehydration is a bad thing for everyone.

I have to disagree with the first answer based on my own experiences. I got my first positive result at 9dpo(9 days after ovulation, equivalent to 9 days after sex), which is what you are asking about. I'm not sure about the condom thing, but my first baby was a "pull and pray" baby. There was no condom involved though...long story short, it would be unlikely that she is pregnant, however, there may have been smaller-than-discernible holes in the condom that sperm could have snuck through in the precum. Stranger things have happened! If you are genuinely curious, I suggest buying a First Response Early Result test, they are pretty accurate at detecting early pregnancy. Try again in a week or so if it's negative and she doesn't get her period.

A pregnancy test is unlikely to be accurate that early.. It may indeed come up positive if she is pregnant however a negative result may not be a true negative. For accurate results you want to wait 14-16 days after sex. Also it is pretty uncommon for symptoms to show up that early..
