Q: Miscarriage?

I found out i was pregnant aug 20th I was about 4 weeks along. yesterday morning when i used the restroom, I saw some light pink spotting. I went to the ER & they did an ultrasound. There was a sac and a healthy surrounding. She said it looked like it was implanted in a good spot and that it looked healthy. The only thing was that i was only 4 weeks and 6 days instead of 6 weeks and 5 days. They drew lots of blood and then sent me home and put me on bed rest. Later, around 2 pm, my bleeding got heavier. I used a pad, and never had a spot on it. Only when i went to the bathroom did the blood come out. The blood was red and there were clots. I didn't have any cramping. I went to sleep with a new pad in. When i woke up, there was still nothing on my pad. When i used the bathroom, the bleeding had slowed down significantly. No clots. For a few hours the blood stopped. Now i am spotting again slightly,(brown instead of red) but there are still no clots. miscarriage or something else?

I'm really sorry and I hope it works out for you, but clots and bleeding is generally a m/c I only say that as you said there is clotting. I pray that your blood tests don't come back with falling HCG levels, but I would maybe try as best you can to prepare yourself. Good luck sweetie. I've had 4 late losses in a row with 3 D&C surgeries and it's not nice, if you need any support where all here. x

Thank you both. I have an appointment today for blood work and tomorrow with my ob to talk about what is going on. But, since yesterday my bleeding has come back so I'm pretty sure that I'm miscarrying. I've been on bed rest for 2 days now. Thank you both for your kind words.

With out cramps I'd be hopeful, I miscarried in June and the cramps started a few hours before I saw any blood. They were worse than the cramps I usually get, so I knew right away what was happening. It's scary, but also normal for some women to experience bleeding in early pregnancy. I hope your blood work results come back soon with good news, it's really the only way to be sure. Stay off your feet and call your obgyn, they should be able to coordinate with the er and monitor you a bit closer.
