Q: 1 hour Glucose examine that was out of normal range that ended up NOT resulting in gestat. diabetes?

To my knowledge, I didn't have any form of diabetes prior to pregnancy. I am in my 29th week and have gained b/w 11-15 lbs. total thus far with a starting wait of 122lbs and a BMI b/w 20-22.

I don't eat regular sugar but do eat a great deal of fruit (quite a bit, which is high in natural sugar) and vegetables. The morning of the test I ate 2 small peaches, braised cabbage, bell peppers and onions, a glass of unsweetened Almond milk and finally two no sugar added popsicles. I stopped eating about 4.5 hours before my mid day test.

Lab results came back with... my count 203

Normal range: 70-130

Melc2808 is right. Your body changes a lot during pregnancy and your hormones play a big part in how you body now handles your sugar. There really is no way of knowing beforehand if you will have GBS or not. Good luck!

Thank you ladies. I am scheduled for the 3 hour test on Monday, the 15th. Hopefully, the results will be well within the normal range. Just to be cautious, I am going to cut down my fruit in take this next week. ..

depends on doctor. My doctor did not require fasting for my 1 hour. That is really high though. I've never had any form of diabetes either but I was just informed today that I failed my 3 hour. From what I was just told by others its nothing you ate or didn't eat. Its caused from pregnancy hormones due to the placenta.

I am sure you are not allowed to eat anything for 12 hours? As I have to go for the test at 28 weeks and have a letter here stating 12 hours of none eating just plane water that is it. Maybe that's why the result where like it was. Ask them to redo it..
