Q: Missed Miscarriage or no heartbeat yet?

I went in to the doctors on Thursday and they told me they couldn't find the baby's heartbeat and I was having a missed miscarriage. From the first day of my last monthly I would be 10 weeks but my cycle has been off for months. So I am wondering if the baby could just be to early because the doctor said if I was around 7 weeks or less she wouldn't be concerned. But I've heard that some people cant hear the heartbeat for longer. Has anyone else every had this?

just got to see the report the ultrasound lady wrote and this is what it says : Impression: Gestational sac containing a fetal pole and yolk sac. The gestation measures 8 weeks 2 days by crown-rump length. Fetal heart tones are not detected consistent with failed first trimester pregnancy. Serial beta hCG and followup ultrasound recommended for further evaluation.

it seems like everything is there but the heartbeat.

I found out it is a missed miscarriage. my HCG levels are going down. I also found out I am RH negative so I will have to get shots next time I am pregnant if I don't my body will see the baby as a threat if its RH positive.

It's going to be a waiting game if your not exactly sure on O and if you have irregular cycles. Either you are earlier than you thought and if they're going by your lmp that's obviously incorrect also. Or if you are after 6 and a half 7 weeks it could be a blighten ovum. But it sounds like you could just be earlier. Have they ran any HCG bloods and a follow up 48hrs later. Or are they just doing another u/s in a week.
Keep us posted.

I would get a second opinion. It sounds like you just ovulated late and are early. Were you able to see anything on the ultrasound? Did you have a vaginal ultrasound? If it was abdominal, then it would be hard to see anything that early.

They said the seen a yolk sac but didn't say how long anything was. I go back Monday to talk with them more and see what the blood tests show.

So what did they see on the scan (more info) I may be able to advise I've had 4 m/c and 3 d&c this last year.
Did they see a yolk sac, a foetal pole, tells us exactly what was see on the u/s, what was the CRL (Crown, rump, length) measuring if seen. I'll then try and answer you from my own personal experiences. Thanks hun x
