Q: When is or was your first ob appt?

I'm thinking of changing my appt because it's on my 10th week of pregnancy and I've had a MC in the past. I think it should be sooner, but I don't know how soon it should be. I'm having trouble getting through to them so I'm annoyed. Should I just wait?

I've had losses in the past too. We had our initial meet and greet appointment with our midwife yesterday at 9w2d, and my first prenatal appointment has been scheduled for October 21st (I'll be 12w2d at that point). I thought it was late too but they didn't seem concerned. I guess if anything does happen in the first trimester there isn't a whole lot that they can do - whether you are being followed closely or not. Good luck!

If you want to wait a few weeks it's up to you. I've waited quite a bit longer with this baby since I had some bleeding (dark red blood) and cramping a few times in my 1st trimester. I'm 16 weeks and just set my 1st appointment up. This is my 7th pregnancy ( I've had one mc). GL and hope you have a happy & healthy pregnancy!

With this pregnancy I was 6 weeks for my first prenatal appt and 8 weeks at my first ultrasound but we found out the baby was measuring ahead at 9 weeks. :) Now I am 21 weeks pregnant. But with my first pregnancy they didn't see me until 8 weeks and I had my first ultrasound at 10 weeks.

It depends on where you are. I'm in Canada and the clinic I go to will not see me before I'm 8 weeks - and even then, that appointment is just a basic one with a nurse. No ultrasound there! My first appointment with the doctor is at 11 weeks. Maybe they would see me before that if I had a history of MC though, I don't know. I'd keep trying to get through to them as well.... then ask if it would be possible/worthwhile to get an appointment sooner. However, I don't think it's a big deal if you don't see your doctor before 10 weeks.

I had my first utlrasound this past Saturday at 6 weeks :) found out I'm having twins :). If I were you I would just keep trying to get through to them :) don't give up. The earliest can be between 6-8weeks. You wouldn't nessicarliy have to wait until your 10weeks pregnant :). But if you think you should wait that's up to you its your choice :) & Congrats.
